Tip: How to better care for your skin in the winter

Tip Description: When winter's winds start whipping and heaters kick into high gear, a seasonal battle for healthy skin begins. Dry air strips away the thin layer of oil that traps moisture in the skin, exacerbating itchy and often painful conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and severe dry skin.

Q: Why is it so important to keep my skin moisturized?

A: Dry, cracked skin triggers an inflammatory response, which can result in flare-ups of eczema or psoriasis. But short showers, lots of lotion, and a little stress relief can go a long way when it comes to preventing winter skin problems.
